Why did you choose to study at Writtle University College?
As a mature student who has many years' experience in business marketing I wanted a change in career where I could explore my creativity in a practical way. My love of flowers and gardening led me in this direction and at the time Writtle was the only facility that provided the floristry course I wanted to study with the flexibility and timescale that I wanted. It was also heavily practical which is vital in the floristry industry. The Degree course did not exist when I started, having said that the C&G route is very practical which is highly necessary in the industry.
What does Writtle University College mean to you?
I have very fond memories of my time at Writtle. The quality of the teaching by Kellie Donovan and the late Karen Dawson was superb. The attention to detail and high standard that was expected has set me in great stead. The diversity and robustness of the practical evaluations and exams and the diversity of the trips was excellent.
What did you particularly enjoy about your course?
The relationships and support provided by both staff and fellow students, many of which have continued to be great friends.

Special Achievements
I was awarded the Essex Wedding Florist of 2016. This award is significant as I was being judged against a very high level of experienced wedding florists in the category who have been in the industry for many years. The judges were from the industry along with brides to be and recently wed.
The judges said :
"Beautiful flowers from a dedicated and professional team. Judges loved how closely they work with their couples and the lengths that are gone to, to create exactly the desired look and theme requested. Lovely relaxed consultation process and transparent pricing with no minimum spend".
