Why did you choose to study at Writtle University College?
Writtle is close to my home town Chelmsford. I also loved the grounds and the atmosphere at the college. The staff have interesting backgrounds and I loved the opportunity to integrate with other courses.
The open plan studios were really beneficial and the facilities seemed to be a lot better than other colleges. The course was quite open and allowed you to develop in your own way.
What does Writtle University College mean to you?
Writtle helped me kick start my career. When I had finished my A levels I didn’t think a career in the creative industry was possible. Writtle not only presented me with a degree but work experience too. Without this I may not be where I am today.
What did you particularly enjoy about your course?
I loved the practical side of it. I really enjoy getting stuck in and love researching and learning new skills.
My Career Path
Graduating in Art and Design Practice at Writtle College gave me the confidence to progress into a career as a designer. The course held the opportunity to develop my technical skills for use in the creative industry.
Working at Joyce Design I have put these skills into practice and grown with the company. I now sign off my own and other employees designs. It is my responsibility to manage the work from start to finish. I not only design but over-see all production.
My Current Job
Studio Manager at at Joyce Design
I have always wanted to progress my education and would consider a postgraduate degree. I am undecided whether this will be in design or project management. Both of which could work alongside my current job role as Studio Manager.
