Marshal Papworth Scholarship

The Marshal Papworth Scholarships are designed to support postgraduate students from developing countries studying land based courses such as Horticulture, and Agriculture. These competitive scholarships are made possible by the generosity of the late Marshal Papworth, an English farmer and member of the East of England Agricultural Society.

A list of qualifying countries can be found at marshalpapworth.com. International students from developing countries who have been offered admission to a taught Masters course at Writtle University College may apply for a Marshal Papworth Scholarship.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have made a successful application for postgraduate study and hold an unconditional offer from the University College. This is a prerequisite for the scholarship application. Students are encouraged to make the applications for their chosen Master’s course in the preceding autumn to their intended year of study.

Eligible candidates will be invited to apply for the scholarship by the Admissions team and this will have a closing date in early spring 2023. Applications for the scholarships are made directly to the University College for consideration via admissions@writtle.ac.uk and are NOT made to Marshal Papworth.

Please note, it is anticipated that the next application phase will open in the late Autumn of 2023 for the 2024/25 entry.
