Terms and conditions

HE scholarships & bursaries terms and conditions 2021-2022:

Agreement:

  • There are a limited number of bursaries and scholarships available.
  • All home students must have applied for the bursary or scholarship by 31 August 2021 and International Students by 31 July 2021.
  • A Writtle University College scholarship is for the named person who has agreed to the scholarship and completed, signed and returned the scholarship form to Writtle University College agreeing to the terms and conditions of the scholarship.
  • Students must meet the conditions of their offer and must follow the Academic Regulations, Attendance Policy and General Rules of the University College.
  • The scholarship may be terminated at any time if an unsatisfactory report is received, if the scholarship holder ceases to be a full-time registered student at Writtle University College, or if the scholarship holder is found in contravention of the scholarship rules and regulations.
  • Students are obliged to provide information about any other funding secured and to inform the Finance Office if they secure any additional funding after receiving and accepting a Writtle University College Scholarship offer.
  • All scholarship payment, discounts and fee waivers will only be made providing the student is registered at the University College and has met the conditions of the scholarship. Students must register on their course at the start of the academic year for each year of their course.
  • By accepting the scholarship, recipients are giving Writtle University College permission to use their details for promotional purposes. Students will be contacted prior to use of their data.

Length of Scholarship:

  • Students may only be awarded one Writtle University College scholarship within one academic year
  • A Writtle University College scholarship is normally awarded for the standard length of the course (up to 3 years) and subject to satisfactory progression and attendance in accordance with the published academic regulations.
  • A Writtle University College Scholarship is not normally awarded for repeat study years
  • A Writtle University College Scholarship may not be deferred to the following academic year.

Change of study and/or mode:

  • The mode of study will be agreed in advance of registration and award of scholarship. This is accepted and agreed with these terms and conditions. The transfer of mode of study after this agreement may affect continuation of the scholarship and the scholarship may be withdrawn.
  • If a student changes to a different course or to a different mode of study, their eligibility for the scholarship will be reviewed and the scholarship may be withdrawn.
  • If the student takes a period of temporary withdrawal or withdraws from the course completely, the University College reserves the right to seek repayment of any parts of the scholarship already made. This includes tuition fees waivers, accommodation discounts and/or cash payments received.
  • If a student withdraws before the end of the academic year they may be asked to repay part of their scholarship. This includes tuition fee waivers, accommodation discounts and/or cash payments received.
  • If a student suspends during their studies and the period of the scholarship and the suspension is approved by Writtle University College, the scholarship may be suspended and reinstated on return to full-time study. Depending on the length of suspension the student may be entitled to the full scholarship or the balance.

General:

  • The University College reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments to these terms and conditions at any time and update as necessary in subsequent years. The student will be advised if this occurs.
  • The University College reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship from a student who is found to have misled the University College about any aspect of their eligibility and to seek repayment of any monies already paid by appropriate means.
  • Writtle University College accepts no legal liability for errors or omissions and reserves the right to make changes without notice.
  • All non-EU applicants must satisfy UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) requirements to study in the UK. Failure to comply with immigration rules will result in your Scholarship and your place on the course being withdrawn.
  • All scholarships/bursaries offered refer to courses with a minimum £9,250 annual fee unless specified otherwise.
  • The above terms and conditions apply to the academic year 2021/22
