Course Manager for MVetPhys Veterinary Physiotherapy (PG)
Lecturer on MVETPHYS and Post graduate MSc Veterinary physiotherapy. Canine lecturer. Jade is the module leader for Advanced therapeutic techniques and clinical practice for veterinary physiotherapists which are 4th year modules on the MVetphys course.
Jade started her career in the veterinary industry 18 years ago when she qualified as a Veterinary nurse. Her career started in a large multidisciplinary small animal hospital on the south coast dealing with orthopaedics, neurological, medicine and cardiology cases. Jade developed a keen interest in canine orthopaedics and neurology so moved to a small animal referral centre to specialise. Once in practice Jade decided to under further training in veterinary physiotherapy to compliment the cases she was nursing in practice. Jade set up her own private business and also developed physiotherapy clinics in house at the referral centre. Jade developed a love for neurological rehabilitation and is one of her keen areas of interest. In 2010 Jade started to teach on the Harper Adams MSc course in vet physio and then later the Writtle post graduate course. After several years of teaching Jade decided this was where she wanted her career to take a different path into teaching. So in 2016 Jade joined the Writtle teaching staff to deliver on the MVETPhys and Post graduate MSc. Along side teaching Jade is continuing to run her private physiotherapy practice to stay relevant to industry and maintain good links. Since joining Writtle Jade has completed her level 3 in canine hydrotherapy and her PGCERT in higher education teaching. Jade has a keen passion in teaching concepts and how students learn to include both theoretical and practical methods. Jade has helped develop our canine clinics which allows Writtle to see external canine clients for physiotherapy and hydrotherapy on site. Jade is a proud member of RAMP which sets industry professional standards for practising veterinary physiotherapists. Jade is also a member of the Royal Veterinary colleague as a Veterinary nurse.
