Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Physiotherapy
I have had a lifetime with horses in many different roles. I have competed in eventing, show jumping, racing and polo, bred and trained horses and ponies and run a livery yard specialising in the breaking and re-training of 'difficult' horses. This experience led me to become interested in why horses suffer loss of performance and/or behavioural problems and I began a journey of education and training to become first a Master Equine Body Worker with Equinenergy and then a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist.
I have undertaken courses in:Advanced Massage Techniques and Mobilisation, Biomechanics and Gait Evaluation, Exercise Physiology, Equine Behaviour, Equine Acupressure, Equine Photonic Red Light Therapy, Myofascial Release, Intensive Anatomy When I'm not lecturing I run a busy vet physio practice. My clients include every kind of equine from miniature Shetlands to four star international eventers as well as working and pet dogs of all breeds. I hope sharing my experience and continued industry practice enables me to equip students with the empathy and practical skills they need for a successful career.PgCert Higher Education Practice
