Role

My present role is split between managing the Animal, Bioveterinary Science and Sport areas as well as senior lecturing principally in Exercise Physiology. I am also
Course Scheme Manager for the Sports and Exercise Performance BSc, Sports Science with Aerial Performance, and Sports Science with Outdoor Activity degrees.


Biography

I am a keen sportsman who has always been interested in sport and the performance of the athlete at both elite and amateur level.

I have competed in athletics and triathlon and enjoy taking part in all aspects including fell running, off-road trail racing and cycling time trials.

I work hard to enhance the student experience at Writtle, and hope that the graduating student will not only leave with a first-class degree, but also with a sense of pride at their achievements.

BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science degree
PhD Sports Science: Haemodynamic responses in muscle during exercise as measured by near infrared spectroscopy

Research

I am currently involved in experiments using the technique of near infrared spectroscopy in a performance setting and have also been involved in pacing strategy research.
