Biography

Saruhan is a senior lecturer at the Landscape Architecture department and leading the postgraduate courses in landscape architecture and garden design. She is supervising PhD students and master thesis in a wide range of themes in landscape architecture. Apart from her academic roles as research student supervisor and course manager, she is involved in international design competitions as landscape architect consultant.

Background

Saruhan has held the position of senior lecturer in the School of Sustainable Environments & Design since 2012. As the course leader in MA landscape Architecture and MA garden Design she has contributed the development of the master courses at the Writtle University College. She has been the module leader for the MA master thesis since 2012.

Research interests

Her research interests include the development of cities and urban morphology, design explorations in historic urban centres and place-making processes, heritage studies and place awareness, everyday landscapes and spatiality, phenomenological approach in place-making processes.
