Site and Concept Studio - (15 Credits)

This studio requires students to investigate the context of a site from a range of perspectives in order to develop a meaningful design concept. Drawing and modelling are used as tools for different modes of thinking and for the creation of forms and spaces driven by the students’ conceptual ideas. These ideas are synthesized with the site information and context to produce a conceptual design solution for a large domestic garden or public/ semi- public space. The studio also stresses the importance of planting styles and material selection within the conceptual and contextual approach and further develops design communication and presentation skills.
