Developing the Teaching Cycle - (15 credits)

This module uses the learning cycle to break down the 4 key elements of teaching. The unit will run alongside your placement, giving you the opportunity to put the theory into practice. Firstly, you will study the requirements of and key elements of planning engaging lessons. This will include both long term and short-term planning documents as well as examples of varied activities. Next, you will explore styles and methods of delivery, how to build effective learning relationships, positively manage behavior and grow your own confidence. The skills required to effectively review and reflect are next. This is cyclical in nature, and you will explore both in and on action. Alongside this you will study the different forms of assessment and feedback and evaluate the impact of timely, detailed and accurate feedback.
