Veterinary Pathophysiology - (15 credits)

Understanding and managing the main pathologies and infectious diseases that affect animals is an essential skill for animal therapists and physiotherapists. This module builds on knowledge obtained from previous modules on anatomy, physiology and animal health and provides a combination of concepts applied directly to the management of animal health. In this module, students will link theory with the practical activities of an animal therapist. The most important aspects related to canine and equine musculoskeletal dysfunctions, metabolic syndromes and infectious diseases will be covered together with new insights of pain management and therapeutic approaches to minimise suffering and promote good health and welfare standards to patients.
