Equine Computer Applications - (15 credits)

Organisations and individuals within the equine industry are increasingly reliant on information technology for various applications; such as marketing, event management, client liaison, external communication and business and enterprise management. This module will enable students to evaluate and design software applications such as webpages appropriate for a broad range of equine enterprises. The practical and legal implications of website design, the use of social media, and the collection and processing of data will be considered. Barriers and limitations to the use of various types of information technology such as internet and communication technologies and management information systems (databases) within the equine industry will be considered within the practical design of appropriate and efficient systems to meet a range of user needs. Students also identify key aspects of managing and marketing a brand within the remit of a client brief and develop a professional brand toolkit to assist with this.
