Organisations and individuals within the equine industry are increasingly reliant on marketing, and subsequently branding to support their commercial activity. In the digital age, use of websites, social media, and apps to support business and enterprise management are essential components of a successful business. This module will enable students to evaluate and design software applications such as websites appropriate for a broad range of equine enterprises. The practical and legal implications of website design, the use of social media, digital marketing and the collection and processing of data will be considered. Barriers and limitations to the use of various types of information technology such as internet and communication technologies within the equine industry will be considered within the practical design of appropriate and efficient systems to meet a range of user needs. Students also identify key aspects of managing and marketing a brand within the remit of a client brief and develop a professional brand toolkit and handover manual to assist with this.
