Developments in Livestock Production - (15 credits)

Livestock production is affected by both national policies and global socio-economic situation, as well as environmental changes. It needs to be adaptable to these changing situations, therefore it is important to consider those factors on the decisions made on the farm level. The students will apply the knowledge of Livestock Production Systems, Precision Livestock farming and Developments in Livestock Production to new and developing issues within the livestock industry. These may include both ongoing long-term problems (e.g. bovine TB, antimicrobial resistance), as well as those that may occur during the teaching semester (e.g. disease outbreaks, policy changes). Students will be involved in discussions regarding changing local and national policies to adapt to global changes (e.g. population increase and food security).
