Applied Anatomy - (15 credits)

Students will gain knowledge of the cellular effects that take place in muscle tissues during atrophy and hypertrophy as well as during dysfunctional states such as when oedema and/or adhesion are occurring. Further knowledge will be gained on neurological processes and how this is a vital component of locomotion. Neurological pain pathways will also be learnt during this module. Practical elements of the module will have a high focus on developing student’s palpation skills at muscle location as well as identifying different tissue states.
