Canine and Equine Nutrition - (15 credits)

This module develops students' knowledge and understanding of the biochemical basis of canine and equine nutrition. The structure of carbohydrates, proteins and fats is studied in the context of digestive physiology, energy provision and metabolism. Scientific principles are then applied to the practice of ration formulation used in feeding different types of dogs and horses. This module also develops an understanding of nutrition in the context of canine and equine health and performance.
