Introduction to Psychology - (15 credits)

Psychology has provided invaluable tools for increasing the performance of both athletes and coaches that can be used to understand the pattern of exercise adherence. This module introduces and discusses the fundamental areas of sports and exercise psychology such as motivation and personality, including self-efficacy and confidence of the novice or elite athlete. The student will develop an understanding of the impact of contemporary issues in exercise psychology as well as introducing the basic concepts in motor learning.
