Contemporary Issues in Food Production - (15 credits)

This module will give students an opportunity to discuss the current challenges of crop production both in the UK and on a global scale. Students will apply the knowledge and skills developed throughout the course to critically evaluate current crop production systems under themes such as: climate change, sustainability and water, food security, fluctuating markets, small scale versus large scale production, genetic modification and food versus fuel. Current case studies in the media will be discussed and debated.
