Writtle College is sponsoring a prestigious sports award to honour the efforts of three Essex Schools.
The Active Essex School of the Year award will be presented to the school that has provided the widest range of opportunities for its pupils to participate in high quality physical education and extra curriculum sport.
The award will be presented on Wednesday 7th November by the College’s Senior Sports Science Lecturer, Mark Walker.
Mark said: "The Active Essex School of the Year Award will celebrate and congratulate three of the most active schools in the county, and the innovative and creative ways that they engage pupils in PE lessons and in the classroom.
"The award aims to recognise those schools that have gone the extra mile for pupils by continuing the Olympic legacy in their sports halls and fields. The winner will have demonstrated a strong commitment to school club links and coaching.
"We are delighted to be involved with this event and to sponsor such an important award in the county, and we wish the schools and their pupils the best of luck."
The schools nominated for the Active Essex Sport Awards are St Michaels Primary School in Braintree, Chase Lane Primary School and Nursery in Dovercourt, and The William Edward School in Grays.
The Active Essex Awards Ceremony takes place from 6pm to 9pm on the 7th November at the Colchester United Community Stadium.
