This year, presenting the awards during an annual ceremony for Further Education (FE) students held on Friday 29 June was Chris Moody OBE, Chief Executive of Landex.
Chris was invited to speak at the presentation day and gave many words of advice and encourage to completing students saying: “It’s always tremendously good to be able to enjoy other people’s celebrations.
“It’s in our industries where the career opportunities are enormous and you are all fortunate to have been taught and to have developed a huge amount of transferable skills during your training at Writtle. You are all in a good position to be able to look for opportunities outside of your specialisms and to adapt and thrive.
If you take the opportunities offered I am sure that many of you will go on to great things in your careers.”
The award ceremony marks the success of students completing full-time FE courses at Writtle College including Equine, Animal Studies and Vet Nursing, Floristry, Agriculture, Countryside, Art and Design, Sport and Horticulture courses.
The full day ceremony featured a number of awarding sessions, with the first of the awards being presented to students from the Agriculture, Countryside and Equine courses at 10.30am, Animal Studies and Vet Nursing students were awarded at 12.00 noon, and a final ceremony was hosted at 2.00pm for Floristry, Art and Design, Horticulture and Sport students.
Writtle College’s Head of Further Education, Andy Sparks, said: “FE presentation day is all about measuring the success of our students. We are here at this ceremony to celebrate what you have achieved.
It has been a great year for FE with the opening of the Titchmarsh Centre, hosting a Royal visit to College campus and all of this alongside a number of other achievements, including inter-College dog grooming awards and an RHS Chelsea Silver medal. We really do have a lot to be proud of this year – congratulations everyone.”
