A practical workshop at Writtle College will be exploring a variety of art techniques and methods using an alternative paint system from organic and inorganic materials.

The six week course will deliver hands on experience for learners to create their own art materials found within the environment. Learners will explore plant rubbings, ink making, raw plant materials, and make gouache paints and pastels.

Through watching demonstrations and working through a series of step-by-step activities, students will gain the skills necessary to be able to create a variety of water base art materials.

The course is for anyone who is interested in using natural ingredients to create colour. It is an in-depth course, which allows the learner to grasp basic concepts and ideas towards creativity from the environment.

The cost for the six week course is £150 and will be one evening every week (6.30pm to 8.30pm). The course will start Thursday 21 June and run until 26 July 2012. For further information or to speak to Short Course Training please call 01245 424286 or email info@writtle.ac.uk
