On Saturday 26 May, Writtle College will be hosting an Open Day for all interested post-GCSE students. Guided tours of the campus will be available and subject specialism talks and demonstrations will be taking place throughout the day.

Well known for its portfolio of specialist subject areas, Writtle College offers courses in agriculture and countryside, animal studies including Vet nursing, art and design, equine, floristry, horticulture: gardening and landscaping, and sport.

The day will run from 10am to 3pm with visitors able to drop in throughout the day. Each subject area will be offering taster sessions for the students attending, for example students interested in sport will take part in fitness tests, while art and design students will visit the dedicated art studio facilities. Animal studies and Vet nursing students will be encouraged to take part in a number of activities including dog agility and an introduction to animal handling.

Andy Sparks, Head of Further Education at Writtle College commented about the forthcoming open and taster day: “Many attendees are likely to attend the day with the thought in mind of applying for a course at Writtle College. The open day will act as an ideal taster session ahead of them potentially making an application.”

“The overall aim of the day is to make it an entertaining and informative experience, with all students leaving feeling equipped and knowledgeable as to what to expect from their studies at Writtle College.”

Writtle offers a full portfolio of courses at Further Education (post GCSE) Level as well as offering a number of apprenticeships. Further information about these can be found out during the forthcoming open day, or alternatively please visit http://writtle.ac.uk/PostGCSE

The day will run between 10am - 3pm. For further information and to book a place please visit: http://writtle.ac.uk/Information-Evenings
