A raffle inspired by and run by students from Writtle College was drawn earlier on this year in aid of the earthquake disaster in Japan. A total of £904.81 was raised by students and staff from the College.
All donations were recently presented to the British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal, by Tamae Isomura. The cheque was presented to Yvonne Jackson, Senior Fundraiser at the Chelmsford Branch of Red Cross.
The slogan on the poster appealing for support came from the heart of those who initiated and developed the idea for the raffle “We all have friends and colleagues at College that came from Japan to study. We hope that their families and friends are safe and well.”
