This September the Postharvest Unit at Writtle College will again be offering the part-time Postgraduate Certificate in Postharvest Technology led by Dr Chris Bishop.

In this current year five part-time students, mostly employed in the fresh produce sector, have studied modules including postharvest physiology and pathology, logistics and supply chain management, and postharvest technology.

Students on the Postgraduate Certificate have attended College this year for one full day/week for two 11 week terms, either side of Christmas. They joined the full-time MSc Postharvest students, who have interestingly been recruited from a wide range of countries across the world.

“The reasons for attendance have varied, from people wanting a formal qualification, to others looking for a technical update or even to re-orientate their careers” commented Dr Chris Bishop.

Details of the course are available on the Writtle College website or please feel free to contact the course manager John Cullum john.cullum@writtle.ac.uk for more information.
