Writtle College’s Lordships Stud last weekend opened up its doors to the local community.
Raising £630 to go towards new fencing at the stud, adults and children visited the College and enjoyed a memorable day watching the mares, stallions, youngstock and foals.
There was a foal and stallion parade, an equine chiropractic demonstration, a backing and jumping demonstration, plus children were able to ride on the stud’s mechanical horse.
Sarah Goodwin, Stud Manager commented: “We decided to open the stud to the local public to bring more general awareness of what we do here at Lordships stud. The demonstrations went well and the weather helped the day to be a success.”
One of the visitors to the day who visited with their family said: “We had a lovely afternoon. We found the demonstrations very informative and would love to come again next year.”
