Writtle College are delighted to announce that Hans Haverkamp, Dutch Master Florist and Chelsea gold winner, is demonstrating at the College on Thursday 29 April as part of an event to celebrate the recently launched floristry degree course.
There will also be an exhibition of work from the BA (Hons) Professional Floristry students, which is not only a first of its kind exhibition for Writtle College, but also a showcase of inspirational floral design by the students. Students have been working hard throughout the year and are now adding the final touches to plans for their exhibition entitled ‘Future Concepts of Floral Design’.
The picture (attached above) shows students discussing techniques and personal inspirations after presenting proposals for their designs to their peers. Chloe Harber, a Professional Floristry degree student, said; “I am really excited about seeing my design ideas realised and being able to demonstrate all I have learnt over the past three years, and showing my individual design style which I have been developing through the inspiration of international designers”.
Julia Ryde, Higher Education Floristry lecturer, commented; “We are so pleased to invite Hans, such a high profile floral designer to the College and together with the student exhibition it should be a very inspiring and enjoyable evening for all.’
Hans Haverkamp will start his demonstration at 7.30pm. Refreshments and an opportunity to view the student exhibition will be from 6.30pm.
This forthcoming floristry event will take place in the Northumberland Suite, Lordship Campus, Writtle College, Chelmsford, CM1 3RR. Tickets are £12.00, available from the Floristry Resource Centre (01245 424200) or email firstname.lastname@example.org
