Essex-based solicitors, Birkett Long, have announced plans to sponsor Writtle University College's Equine Academy for the fourth consecutive year. Since the Academy's launch, the firm has contributed towards branded equipment for riders and their horses.

The 2021 squad will receive kit featuring the University College and Birkett Long logos. Horses will be provided with Academy-branded numnahs and quarter sheets when training and out competing.

Representatives from Birkett Long visited the University College's specialist equine campus in November 2021. Head of Employment, Julie Temple, Solicitor and member of the Agriculture and Estates team, Sarah Rider, toured the facilities and met this year’s academy members and horses.

Lecturer Jane Hart said: "We're delighted to hear that Birkett Long will be continuing to sponsor of our Equine Academy and enjoyed introducing their team to our fantastic riders and horses. Birkett Long's support helps to ensure our riders look highly professional when representing the University College and Birkett Long at competitions and events. Our students are proud to be brand ambassadors."

The WUC Equine Academy supports up to 12 talented riders each year, while they study for any Higher Education award at Writtle University College. The Academy helps riders to realise their goals with the support and guidance of experienced, professional in-house and guest coaches. The new equipment and sponsorship will help members to continue to succeed in dressage, showjumping, eventing and other recognised horse sports.
