On Saturday 7th November, Wing Tsun London will be offering a free kung-fu self-defence class for women, at Writtle University College near Chelmsford. The martial art form is suitable for all ages and abilities and offers a simple, effective form of self-defence.

The session will take place from 10.30am to 1.30pm in the University College's sports hall and is open to members of the public. Parking is available on campus and any donations will go to Action Aid.

Writtle University College's Sport Development & Engagement Manager Amy Grimsey said: "Having worked with Wing Tsun London since September, we have seen how their sessions have increased confidence, provided positive mental well-being and created fun, physical activity for our student and staff body.

"We are delighted to host their women's self-defence course which will be sure to empower women near and far!"

Wing Tsun London's class will offer advice on dealing with dangerous or unpredictable situations, from increased awareness to defence techniques. The sessions aim to increase confidence, fitness, strength and co-ordination and leave women feeling safer
