Writtle University College's Zachary Churn and Grace Gunn are counting down the days to Basketball England's first Team England 3x3 training camp, at the National Performance Centre in Manchester.
The two BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise students will be gaining hands-on experience as assistant sport scientists. They have been invited to offer support to WUC Lecturer Mark Williams, who will be working in his capacity as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Basketball England.
Grace and Zachary will be contributing to the event, which takes place in Manchester during the week commencing June 1st. They will work alongside world-class athletes to assist with physical screening, data collection and COVID-19 safety procedures.
Mark commented: "At Writtle University College we place a high value on the combination of practical experience and the application of theory. Both Zach and Grace are fully deserving of this opportunity after contributing to the analysis of test data from the 8-Week Athletic Development Programme that was designed to keep young players active during the first lockdown last year. They are highly motivated students and will benefit from placing science into practice in a professional setting."
