Following world-wide success in 2020, Writtle University College's Design Degree Show is returning with fresh, new look for 2021. The online exhibition launches on 26th May 2021 and showcases the best and brightest work from future creative professionals.
Last year's virtual event attracted more than 1,000 visitors within its first 24 hours, from countries around the globe.
2021's digital display will be even more impressive, featuring skilled work from Writtle University College's first and second year undergraduate Art and the Environment students, and both undergraduate and postgraduate students of Landscape Architecture & Garden Design.
Lecturer Samantha Humphreys said: "Our students are the next generation of creative professionals and the virtual exhibition showcases their breadth of skill. We're delighted to be celebrating their achievements with an online event, that can be accessed from anywhere within the world."
Prior to 2020, the annual Design Degree Show took place within extensive studio facilities on the University College's large, rural estate. When the coronavirus pandemic made a physical show impossible, students adapted to the challenging circumstances by creating an innovative virtual experience.
Visitors to this year's exhibition can enjoy work from a range of disciplines and are encouraged to vote for their favourite pieces, as part of the Essex Gardens Trust People's Choice Award. Winners of the Landscape Architecture & Garden Design Awards will be on display, as will original creations from Kayley Passingham, the BA (Hons) Art and the Environment student chosen to supply artwork for the show's promotional material.
