Writtle University College is offering a new initiative from 8th February. New online resources will support schools, as part of an ongoing outreach programme.

Experienced lecturers within the Sports Department will offer bite-sized, recorded sessions on key subject areas. Schools will be able to use this resource to complement their delivery for PE online lessons as well as the GCSE PE curriculum.

The programme, 'Taste of Sport', will run across Google Classroom, using a unique code for each school. The six videos, each lasting around 20 minutes cover a range of topics developed specifically Year 10 upwards. Each video is supported by a relevant worksheet or activity.

The programme covers the following topics:

  • Lower Limb Anatomy / Sports Injuries
  • Current Issues in Sport
  • Football Skills Development
  • Components of Fitness
  • Fitness Testing
  • Nutrition

To find out more and to confirm your school's participation, email Schools will be provided with the prerecorded material and this can be assessed at any point, either as part of a school-led session or individually by interested students.
