Writtle University College's Flying Start initiative supports students as they take their first steps into higher education.
The programme offers free tuition for students studying a HE Certificate, or HE Diploma at WUC. The one-to-one sessions are also aimed at students returning to education, after time away.
Participants will work with a study skills professional to increase their skills in areas such as IT, assignment writing, structuring and referencing. Each student will speak to team member Nik Barrall, who creates a tailored support package to build their knowledge and confidence.
Writtle University College commented: "This is a fantastic opportunity that really will help to get our students off to a 'Flying Start'. The one-to-one tuition will give you an idea of what to expect during your course and will help with any questions you may have about academic study."
Students will also gain a greater understanding of the support available at WUC and learn how they can access Learning Mentors and peer-support from the Buddy Team throughout the academic year.
This support package launches on 17th August. To take part, students should email firstname.lastname@example.org and include 'Flying Start' in the subject line.
