It’s an exciting week for Writtle University College. The campus is buzzing as Further Education and Higher Education courses enter a new term.
First year university students began arriving on September 13th, with new additions moving into halls on September 15th. An activity-packed Freshers’ Week is giving resident and non-resident students a chance to settle into their new environment and make friends.
Head of Student Success, Donna Franklin, said: “We’ve enjoyed welcoming all of our new students to campus, and welcoming back our returners over this week and next. We have a ‘Welcome Zone’ set up as a dedicated place for students to go to seek support. It’s open from 12-4pm and co-hosted by staff and student ambassadors.
“Main campus tours run regularly with the opportunity for students to meet staff from our Wellbeing and Student Success teams. IT support is also on hand for some 1-1 (or group sessions) to help students familiarise themselves with the systems we use here at Writtle.
“Upstairs in the Welcome Zone we have games and refreshments providing a place to relax and meet others. It’s a wonderful supportive start for our students.”
