Our Further Education Floristry student Seur Kee Cho has been awarded first prize in her class at The National Flower Show at Hylands House!

As part of the event, there are eight floral art competitions with a Royal Wedding theme.

Judges from the Home Counties Area of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) awarded Seur Kee Cho first prize for her exhibit in the class From The Royal Conservatory.

The Level 3 Diploma in Floristry student’s tropical design featured a moss column to represent a tree in a glasshouse, artichokes, Calla Lilies, tropical leaves and Vanda Orchids.

Celebrity gardener and former Patron of Writtle University College Alan Titchmarsh opened the gardening extravaganza at Hylands House, which is on until Sunday 20 May.

FE Lecturer in Horticulture Steve Ashley and FE Floristry students met him earlier, with the students making him a buttonhole!

A team of FE staff and students have created stunning arrangements in the terrace room of Hylands House.
