This Thursday (18 August), students across the country will receive their academic results, enabling them to make an informed choice about where they will be studying in September. To help with the difficult decision-making process, Writtle College is opening its Clearing Service at 9am on Results Day.
Writtle’s Admissions team and academic staff will be on-hand to talk to students about their options and the number of places available on its degree, foundation and diploma courses starting this September – all of which offer exciting employment opportunities or the chance to go on to further study.
Based on a beautiful 220-hectare estate, Writtle College is one of the oldest specialist institutions in the UK and offers a range of land-based, design and sport courses at various levels of academic study. There are also a number of scholarships and bursaries, which are still available for students to apply for.
The College has places available on one, two and three-year undergraduate programmes – including part time options - in Agriculture, Animal Management, Animal Science, Art and Design, Veterinary Physiotherapy,Equine, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture and Garden Design, Professional Floristry, Sports and Exercise Performance and Cycling Performance.
Writtle also offers postgraduate, research and college-level courses.
With accommodation for around 400 students on site, Writtle College is well-known for its community feel on campus and its personal approach to learning. There are also a host of social events run over the year by its active Students’ Union.
Dr Stephen Waite, Principal of Writtle College, said: “This can be a stressful time for students who receive grades they were not expecting or have left it too late to apply to an institution through the usual process. It is important that they take the time to think, research and understand their options. For us at Writtle, it is an opportunity to give guidance and support as well as telling them about the number of exciting options available through Clearing.
“For many people, Clearing can give them the chance to think about courses and a career that they may not have considered before. Our specialist staff can discuss and explore students’ interests and the opportunities available to them, supporting them to make the most informed decision about their future.”
