Once again, Writtle College has excelled in postgraduate satisfaction as revealed by the latest industry students’ survey results.
This year’s Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES), which is open to all postgraduate students across the country, shows that Writtle is leading the way in delivering first-class teaching and student support. Key achievements include:
• 94% said feedback on work was prompt (sector average is 66% and small & specialist sector averaging 62%)
• 94% said there is sufficient contact time to support effective learning (sector average 69% and small & specialist sector averaging 65%)
• 94% said confidence to be innovative or creative has been developed (sector average 74% and small & specialist sector averaging 69%)
Importantly, Writtle achieved an overall positive review of 88%, well ahead of the sector average which achieved 79%.
Speaking about the survey results, Dr Stephen Waite, Principal and CEO of Writtle College, said: “We carefully tailor our courses and student support to meet specific subject and industry needs as well as the aspirations of our students. When you look at the results in detail and make like-for-like comparisons with Russell Group universities and other larger institutions, our performance is much higher which demonstrates and emphasises the value of studying at a small and specialist institution like ours.
“As we continue our work towards offering our first Writtle University College degrees from 2017, it is very important to have such excellent feedback from our students about the quality of teaching at Writtle.”
The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey, which is organised by the Higher Education Academy, is the only sector-wide survey that gives full insights from taught-postgraduate students about their learning and teaching experience.
