Artworks, garden designs, landscape architecture proposals and interior schemes are now taking shape as students at Writtle College prepare for their Degree Show.

The exhibition at Writtle College, near Chelmsford, is the culmination of work from Art & Design, Interior Architecture & Design and Landscape Architecture & Garden Design students at degree and Masters levels.

The three studios at the College will be converted into exhibition space for the Show, which will be launched on Wednesday 20 May and be on until Saturday 23 May.

Pryle Behrman, who heads up WSD and also curates part of the London Art Fair, said: “The WSD Show is a fantastic finale to students’ education here.

“It is hard work putting together an exhibition, but students relish the opportunity to create their last show-stopping work, bringing together and reflecting on their studies throughout their course. Being able to display this in a format that enables them to talk to visitors about their creative process and gather the response and reaction of the public is an important professional and personal skill.

“The launch event buzzes with visitors, family and friends of students, alumni, potential employers, guest speakers and staff – an inspirational showcase of what our students can achieve.”

WSD held a competition to select the artwork to be used on the marketing material for this year's Degree Show. There were 81 entries, with a great selection of varied artwork. The competition was won by Keron Beattie, a student on the BA (Hons) Contemporary Art & Design course, with his image of pebbles between wooden sleepers.

A selection of work by Contemporary Art & Design degree students will be available to buy for £10 in a charity sale at the Degree Show, with all proceeds going to Dementia UK, the charity dedicated to providing specialist nurses to families affected by dementia.

• The WSD Degree Show is being held at:

• 5pm to 9pm on Wednesday 20 May - launch event

• 10am to 4pm on Thursday 21 May

• 10am to 3pm on Friday 22 May

• 10am to 4pm on Saturday 23 May
