Writtle College lecturer Keith Moule raced in the finals of the 1,000m Canoe Sprint in the World Cup 2014!

The Head of FE Sport at Writtle College went to Racice in the Czech Republic and raced in the 1,000m – Olympic distance – and 5,000m races both in K1 (Individual).

The 33-year-old said: “The racing went very well, I achieved a personal best time on the 1,000m over the weekend and finished tenth on the 5,000m. I was very pleased to represent Great Britain and was happy with the results in all my races, especially finishing so high up on the 5,000m.

“Here at Writtle College, we offer a number of FE and HE sports courses and a number of lecturers are involved in sport at a high level, which means we can enrich students’ learning with our experience of this sector, which offers varied and exciting careers.”

Last year, Keith, from Chelmsford, was selected to represent Great Britain in the World Marathon Canoeing Championships in Denmark and came fourteenth, as well as going to Slovakia as a coach for the Great Britain junior sprint team.
