Writtle Calling/2 Emma Toc – the temporary radio station installed at Writtle College last year by artists Melissa Appleton and Matthew Butcher and curated in collaboration with Writtle School of Design – is featured in Artforum’s Best of 2013!

The station hosted a series of bespoke broadcasts by artists, writers, musicians and scientists, emulating the first regular public radio broadcasts by Marconi Engineers from Writtle in 1922.

Current third year Art & Design students were also part of Writtle Calling/2 Emma Toc, with each student providing a piece of sound art that was broadcast as part of this project.
