The local community and interested students are invited to Writtle College to come and Have a Go at a new skill and to get practising straight away with our free taster sessions.
Have a Go is a unique project which promotes the importance of skills, and the impact they have on our lives, by offering bite sized skill tasters around the UK. The Have a Go campaign is part of WorldSkills London 2011 (part of the world’s greatest skills Competition) which is partly funded by the European Social Fund designed to ignite visitors’ passion for learning and introduce them to skills they may never have considered as possible career options. The aim over the year (February 2011 – February 2012) is to create one million opportunities for people, around the UK, to ‘Have a Go’ at a new skill
Writtle College will be contributing to the WorldSkills London 2011 Have a Go campaign by hosting our own hands on ‘Have a Go Event’ on Wednesday 1 February 2012, encouraging people to get involved and try a new skill, trade or profession.
The sessions will be between 2pm – 5pm and include sessions on:
• Introduction to Animal Handling
• Introduction to Floristry
• Introduction to Horticulture
• Introduction to Countryside Skills
