RHS Qualification to start in New Year

As the New Year is welcomed in so will be the opportunity for horticultural enthusiasts to sign up to two RHS course’s starting at Writtle College in early 2012.

The RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Garden Planning, Construction and Planting will be starting on Friday 6 January 2012 and will run until 29 June. Students studying the course will attend College one day a week.

The second RHS course to start in the New Year is the Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Garden Planning, Establishment and Maintenance. Starting on Thursday 23 February 2012 and running through to the 28 of June 2012, students will also attend this course one day a week.

The Level 3 course will provide a route to employment in professional horticulture by assessing knowledge of the scientific principles underpinning horticultural practices, and supports career development for those already working in the profession. It also provides a foundation for further learning or training in the field of horticulture.

The Level 2 course will provide students with a solid foundation in all aspects of garden maintenance, principles of design and the production of edibles covering the following; garden features, plant selection and planning, choice, establishment and maintenance of garden plants and lawns, production of outdoor vegetables and fruit, protected environments and their use in plant cultivation.

The Level 3 course will cost: £650 course fees + £95 registration and examination fees. The Level 2 course will cost: £600 course fees + £42 registration and examination fees.
