Twelve Level 3 Floristry Diploma students have been praised for their striking floral display at All Saints Church in the parish of Writtle, Chelmsford Essex. For the second year running students decorated one of the church windows for the forthcoming harvest festival celebrations.
The students involved in the project benefited from the practical experience, outside of the College, in creating the large window arrangement for the parish Church. Essential to the display was the selection of autumnal flowers and foliages.
Helen Sheard, lecturer in Floristry at Writtle College said: “It’s great for the students to get external hands on experience like this and to complete large scale work for the church. The students have thoroughly enjoyed themselves completing this work and worked very well as a team.”
The Reverend Michael Jones of All Saints Church, Writtle was very pleased with the designs and he said: "The finished displays looked truly amazing and the students have done a fantastic job".
Harvest festival is an annual celebration in the UK where thanks is offered out for successful harvests, a tradition on-going since pagen times.
