Ken Rehill, Managing Director of The Stallion Company based in France, visited the College on Friday to give Higher Education Equine students some current thoughts and opinions on the future of British Horse Breeding.
The Stallion Company, formerly French Stallions, imports semen from top quality World Ranked stallions into the UK. Additionally, Ken owns the superb blood type stallions Grafenstolz, Royaldik, Kannan and Rubicell, they stand at Touchwood Stud in the UK.
All students from the College equine breeding and related courses were invited to the interactive lecture which involved students putting forward their own opinions and ideas on the future direction of British Breeding and the marketing of Sports Horses.
After the lecture students were given the opportunity to ask questions and gain from Ken's contacts and experience of breeding and international marketing.
Pennie Wallace, Senior Lecturer in Equine Studies organised the visit, and she said “Ken’s lecture both entertained and enthralled the students. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the breeding industry was infectious and has certainly given the staff and students something to think about regarding the future of British Breeding compared with our European counterparts.”
