The RAG (Raise and Give) charities chosen by the Students’ Union RAG team this year were Little Havens Hospice and Have a Heart – The Essex Heart Radio appeal. Both charities were presented with cheques for £2,500 during the student graduation ceremony at Chelmsford Cathedral on Thursday 9 September.

Student Union Officer, Julie Driscoll said: “All the RAG events where greatly attended by Writtle College Students current and old, without their support this amount of money would not have been raised. I want to say a big thank you to all the RAG Team and Student Union.”

RAG events include the famous ‘Moulsham 11’, a slave auction and a vicars and tarts party held on campus in the Students’ Union bar.

J’s Hospice will be the RAG charity for the 2010/ 11 academic year.
