National rail strikes will take place on Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd February 2023.
We encourage students to plan plan ahead and to consider using other methods of public transport or car sharing in order to arrive at the University College safely.
Greater Anglia's service is currently expected to be severely reduced on both days, however we strongly advise that students to check service updates before travelling.
Should you be unable to attend college safely because of the strike, please notify your course manager and any other staff who are due to teach you that day, to allow them to provide you with work to complete from home.
Please do not contact the absence line to inform of nonattendance due to train strikes, liaise with your teaching staff and remote work will be set.
There will be no authorised absence given for non-attendance due to train strikes. Students who complete their remote learning will be given an ‘R’ mark and attendance percentages will not be affected.
All other absences (e.g. sickness) are to still go through the absence line.
As usual, we would advise all students to travel safely and support each other on days such as these, where unexpected delays can arise.
