Students from Writtle University College Further Education Sports Department are hosting nationwide charity, Walking With The Wounded, for a festive themed community event.
The students invite members of the community, young and old, to take part in their 'Walking Home For Christmas' event raising money for the charity which supports ex-military personnel and their families within the UK.
The event will start at Writtle University College's main campus, and includes a one-mile loop, taking in parts of the college grounds and Writtle village. Participants are encouraged to walk (or jog!) the route, and then join other participants for soup and roll outside the main reception.
The event will run between 6.00 and 7.30pm, 14th December with soup being served from 7.00 onwards.
Participants can donate and raise money themselves by opening a donations page on the charity's website. Please ensure you put 'Writtle' in your sign-up to guarantee your post-event food: Walking Home For Christmas.
