In August 2021, Lordships Graffalo won the Land Rover Blair Castle International Horse Trials CCI4*-S. The nine-year-old gelding was bred at Writtle University College's Lordships Stud, and is now owned by Michele Saul.

Ridden by eventing champion Ros Canter, he jumped clear in both phases, collecting 0.4 time-penalties in the showjumping and 0.8 in the cross-country to finish on 26.4.

"He's such an incredible horse," Ros told Horse and Hound magazine. "He's got such amazing balance on these hills, you could gallop down a hill and feel completely in control."

Writtle University College is the only University or College in the UK to have an on-campus working stud.

In January 2020, Ros visited the Univeristy College's specalist equine centre to perform her popular 'Training To Win' demonstration to a sold-out arena.

She added a special twist to the event, by using both Lordships Graffalo and Lordships Parc Royale within the demonstration.

Ros said: "It was a fun evening and exciting to bring the horses back home to Writtle."
