Writtle University College's Students' Union has announced the appointment of Vince Travers as the new President for the academic year 2021/22.
Vince says: "I am studying horticulture at Writtle and will be in the 2nd year of the BSc when we return after the summer. Writtle was the obvious choice when deciding where to study because it has a long history of being one of the top land-based subject establishments in the country. The extensive grounds and facilities mean it is well equipped to ensure I can learn my chosen subject to a high standard."
Vince plans to support students and bring societies together following a challenging year that saw many social activities moving online as a result of lockdown.
He says: "It is important that students are well represented and can have the very best experience whilst at University, and I believe the Students' Union plays a crucial role in making this a reality."
Vince aims to:
- Offer events and activities to help students have fun
- Ensure students feel there is support whenever they need it
- Represent students well, with their voices heard at the senior management levels
