WUC launches virtual event with Dr. David Marlin

Writtle University College is pleased to announce a new virtual event for the equine and animal science sector. Dr. David Marlin's highly anticipated guest lecture 'Equine Tech: Help or Hindrance', looks at pioneering work within the fields of artificial intelligence and technology.

The webinar, which will take place at 5pm on Wednesday 17th March, is expected to attract viewers throughout the animal and equine industries.

The event will be funded by EIRA, a ground-breaking project that supports innovation in the East of England. EIRA is known for its work to provide businesses with access to academic expertise, including consultancy and collaborative research and specialist facilities.

Writtle University College's Dr. Roberta Ferro de Godoy said: "We would like to thank Dr. David Marlin and EIRA for joining us to create this event. Dr. Marlin's knowledge of these ground-breaking areas will offer a fascinating insight into a fast-growing sector. Dr. Marlin has more than 20 years of experience within physiology and biochemistry and is known for combining expert theory and practical application. He is well known within the equine and animal sciences and from 1990 until 2005, he held the position of Senior Scientist and Head of Physiology at the Animal Health Trust.

His main areas of professional interest are exercise physiology, nutrition, fitness, training, performance, thermoregulation, competition strategy, transport and respiratory disease. Dr. Marlin has also worked as a consultant to the British Equestrian Teams since 1994 and was a member of the World Class Performance Scientific Advisory Group chaired by John McEwen when it was created in 2006.
