Writtle University College (WUC) student and highly-ranked runner Khahisa Mhlanga is celebrating an exciting achievement. She has been selected for the 2021 Athletics Futures Academy Programme.
Khahisa is one of 62 athletes to receive this amazing opportunity. The majority of participants were retained by British Athletics from the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Futures Academy Programme so Khahisa is part of an exclusive group of just ten new additions.
Khahisa, who is studying BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise, said: "I am delighted to be selected for the Futures Academy Programme as this will provide new opportunities for me to develop and will support my junior-to-senior transition."
The athletes come from a variety of sporting disciplines, including running, hammer throwing and wheelchair race championships.
Khahisa has also been presented with a prestigious sponsorship deal by HOKA ONE ONE and will be wearing her new branded kit during future races.
