TV presenter and garden writer Peter Seabrook will be the headline speaker at a public evening lecture at Writtle University College.

Organised by Horticulture degree students Scott Downes, Thomas Brindle and Hamish Porteous as part of their final year studies, the event on 29 March aims to raise awareness of the value of community horticulture. The lecture will also consider the planned regeneration of the University College’s orchard.

Peter will be supported by RHS community outreach advisor Alison Findlay, together with apple experts Maike Windhorst and Steve Middleditch.

The event is on 29 March at 7pm and tickets, costing £10, are available at Eventbrite under the event title ‘Community Horticulture Lecture’.

All profits from the event are being donated to the Chelmsford charity InterAct, where Thomas and Scott are volunteering to regenerate a garden space for young adults.
